What childhood memory or experience inspired the ‘Happy Campers’ print?

When I was a little girl, a camping trip was always a great adventure from start to finish. I loved preparing all the universe of things needed to build and live on a campsite, finding the perfect spot to pitch the tent, cooking up some delicious food on the portable stove or campfire, observing all the little creatures that lived with us in the campsite (and being a little scared of spiders), stargazing in the evenings and playing with a flashlight. No time to get bored!

What’s one thing you always pack when going on a camping trip, and why?

Definitely a pocket hammock to hang between trees and read a book and garland of lights is my indispensable companion on every campsite.

How do you stay playful and creative in your work, and how do you hope it influences young minds?

You can never stop playing and enjoying your work. If you have fun, creativity comes naturally. I use simple, unfussy shapes and vivid colors to create a fun-filled world, trying to make childrens and adults smile.

If you could design a perfect ice cream sundae, what would it look like? Any special toppings or flavours?

Of course it would be rainbow colored ice cream with a topping of little clouds and chocolate sprinkles :)

What’s the most fun part about collaborating on designs for Halcyon Nights?

My favorite moment of the collaboration is when I see photos from a session with small models! Always very surprising and special. I love to see how the Halcon Nights makes the magic and patterns come to life on the fabrics.
